Re-Building My Self-Confidence
I have suffered from body confidence issues for years. After having two children, within the space of three years, I would go as far as saying that it ruined my body so I was initially nervous about how the pictures would look. However, I was inspired to do a boudoir shoot, as a friend of mine had done one as a wedding gift for her husband. She’s fuller-figured but her photos looked absolutely stunning.
Prior to my session with Lize, I had never done a boudoir shoot before and wasn’t expecting it to be as fun as it was. I tried to go for pieces that hid my problem areas as much as possible to minimise feeling self-conscious, but the makeup and poses were so flattering that I needn’t have worried. When I saw the makeup I couldn’t believe that it was me, it looked so good. That in itself gave me a boost before the photoshoot had even started.
I enjoyed every part of the boudoir session and would not change a single thing. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be as much fun as it was. From getting the makeup done to posing up a storm, to chilling at the end and selecting the pictures. I also thought the personalised playlist was a really nice touch!
When I got to see the pictures at the end, I was just bowled over; I couldn’t believe that it was me. To anyone feeling nervous about having a boudoir session of their own, I would say just go for it! Pick outfits to flatter your body to give you that initial confidence boost and then let Lize work her magic with the poses and pictures; she really knows what she is doing!
Overall, I left the shoot on an absolute high and love my personalised album. If you’re thinking of booking a boudoir shoot, I would absolutely recommend Lize.
