Hello! I’m Lize Okoh, owner and photographer at Okoh’s boudoir who also happens to love being in front of the camera as much as behind it! Yeah, that’s me up there 🙂 I also love to sing, dance and try something new, epic or challenging every year. Eight years ago it was skydiving, but last year I decided to take it easy and enroll for Salsa and Bachata lessons at my local dance studio. I love to go on adventures and don’t want to wait until I’ve retired to start ticking activities off my bucket list!
When I’m not doing all this epic stuff though, my greatest passion is to empower and inspire other women. From the day we’re born, we’re taught how to speak, hold ourselves, dress and act in comparison to others. We’re told what dress size is ideal, what colours are unflattering, when to shave off hairs in our private parts, and as far as to dislike our bodies when it undergoes natural processes that comes with living or being an adult woman.
I’d like to say enough! When do we get to do something for ourselves and cherish the bodies that give us life? I say the time is now, JUST AS YOU ARE.
Growing up, I always said to myself: “wouldn’t it be amazing to get a job where I compliment people all day and make them feel great about themselves?” And so I found boudoir and I love that it allows women to be themselves – sensual, vulnerable, strong and powerful, all at the same time! Something we should have been allowed to be all along.
The Art of Boudoir says ditch the scales, anti-stretch mark creams, fake tan or bleaching lotions. Your weight, age, race or identification shouldn’t matter. You are beautiful just as you are and with an awesome photographer in your corner, you get to document yourself in beautiful portraits and celebrate the soul that lies within.
I’m passionate about being an advocate for self-love and body positivity; and I’d like to empower you to do the same for yourself.
I can talk about why I chose to specialise in boudoir photography till the end of time, but it’s no fun having a one sided conversation. So why not give me a call and we can talk more about it and even better, you get to create your own special boudoir session with me.
I’m here to cheer you on!
