Life Is Too Short. I Want No Regrets Later In Life!
Earlier this year, we came up with a concept to make the boudoir sessions at our London studio more fun. As a result, Badass VS Bombshell was born. We asked the lovely ladies interested in a session to choose which of these themes they’d like to include in their session and Tanya was one of the ladies that were selected. As you’ll see, she chose the Bombshell theme which included props such as white wings, a goddess crown and a white sheet set (which she ended up not including).
We had a great session with Tanya and are honoured to have been part of her process of celebrating her 40th birthday and overcoming bowel cancer. Here’s what she had to say about her boudoir session below.
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?
After recovering from bowel cancer in October 2021 and turning 40 in March 2022, I thought having a session would be great because I’ve always wanted to do it but never had the confidence to do so.
Also, life is too short. So, I thought why not? I didn’t want to regret not doing it later on in life.
What did this shoot do for your self-confidence and self-image?
My goodness, where do I start…. well I’m really not body confident at all but during the photoshoot, I felt amazing and reasonably confident too.
Fast forward to seeing my pictures on the screen with Lize and wow, I was honestly blown away. I looked amazing and I’m so proud of my body after all it’s been through. This shoot made me realise my body is just fine how it is.
What was your favourite part of the session?
I enjoyed everything from start to finish. The pampering of having my hair and makeup done was lovely and a real treat!
Was your experience what you were expecting?
I didn’t really know what to expect as I had never done anything like this before. It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed myself.
What would you say to anyone who’s feeling nervous about having a session of their own?
Don’t be nervous. Lize made me feel at ease from the very beginning. All I had to do was change into my outfits and listen to her guidance. Throughout the whole shoot, she told me how to lay, stand and pose –all the while making me feel comfortable and at ease.
It’s really easy and if you are at all nervous, these nerves will soon disappear. You will 100% not regret it. Ladies get your shoot booked in you will not regret it!
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I’m so glad I went ahead with my boudoir session. I loved every bit of my day and I’m really looking forward to showing my husband my album filled with my gorgeous images.
