It’s been incredible to see how photographers all over the world have looked for other interesting ways to continue creating and doing what they love; some have even turned their cameras on themselves for the first time.

I’m a photographer who loves being in front of the camera, but doing self-portraits alone wasn’t enough. So like many others, I jumped at the brilliant idea to undertake a Facetime boudoir session right from my phone screen!

I made a post in our VIP boudoir group and got some lovely ladies to volunteer for the facetime shoot.

As with all my boudoir sessions, I worked on her outfit choices to ensure it was complimentary with my props.

I also directed and posed her throughout the shoot in order to get the most flattering poses considering we were shooting through a phone!

I had to be very creative with the props and arrange them in an appealing way. I ended up using some of my jewellery as well.

This type of photography is called a flat-lay and it’s harder than it looks to achieve a pleasing aesthetic. Also, I was on my knees and bending over my phone for an extended period of time, so by the time we finished, my back was aching. But I think it was worth it!

I really enjoyed being creative in an unusual way. It was fun to do this facetime shoot, something I can recall with fond memories from this time in history.
